So many people around the world use these CWs with iOptron CEM design mounts. Yet, there are very less suppliers. No one else manufactures these in India, even though it’s an indispensible accessory for people using Newtonian telescopes on CEM mounts. It easily balances loads jutting out of the scope such as crayford focusers, coma correctors, finderscopes, barlows and eyepieces. If you can’t balance your mount in the RA axis even after moving the CW through the entire length of the shaft, then you absolutely need this accessory. So why doesn’t everyone use it? That’s because people either totally ignore imbalance in RA (straining the motors of your mount) OR use something DIY OR work for hours with their mounts to just find that perfect balance that works with both Dec. & RA. That effort goes down the drain just by making minor changes to your setup (like changing the camera or the eyepiece, etc.). Another thing to note is that once you have achieved perfect balance, you may want to make your setup east heavy i.e. tip the balance just slightly to the east for improving the meshing & hence, the tracking of your mount. The product quality is great and I recommend this for Newtonians on a CEM mount.
